Truly thankful

Had the shock of my life when mum called during lunch saying, "Dear, don't panic. Dad's been admitted to XXXX Hospital. He had a mild heart attack just now. Come over to the hospital as he's going to undergo surgery soon. Drive safe, don't panic."

At that moment, I was more than shocked and panicky.

I just couldn't believe that my dad, someone whom I've always regarded as invincible is sick. :(

I immediately called my care group leader as well as my other church friends, requested for them to activate the prayer link, hoping that our prayers will bring about total and swift healing and protection for my dad.

As i was driving to the hospital, all i could think of was flashback to what I've said to dad yesterday morning. I didn't even tell him that i love him. :(
Memories of the times he spent sharing stories and giving me countless advice came flooding back.

I was crying, and praying to God as i was driving.

Upon arrival at the hospital, mum informed that she has signed the documents and that the doctor is attending to dad. Not long after, the doctor informed that he has performed balloon engioplasty and that dad is doing well.

Thank God! Thank God!

Dad's now out of ICU and he's doing well. :)

Appreciate if you could continue praying for my dad for his full and swift recovery. Am also praying for favour that we'll be able to claim our insurance - there seem to be some difficulties.

Thank you for your well wishes dearest friends.

xoxo

Runaway maid SHITuation

Sigh..

When I awoke this morning, I was a lil apprehensive as to why the house was still so dim at 8am.

I was also wondering to myself why there wasn't any food on the table.

When I was finally done, I went downstairs to grab a bite before leaving. Surprisingly, mum was standing by the dining table. Asking us (me and my bro) what we wanted for breakfast.

Puzzled, I asked, "eh, how come you're preparing breakfast this morning?"

She exclaimed, "Cos your maid ran away!"

OMG, never would we have thought Faridah is the kind who'd run away. Of all the maids, she has been one of the best. And she's one of the the nicest too. It's tough to find someone who's so loving and can take care of my doggies so well too. sigh..

There were absolutely no tell-tale signs at all. sigh.

I can't possibly understand why she'd run away. We've always been nice to her and had never mistreated her in any ways. In fact, we always treat her as part of the family. We buy her gifts and take her out too. She'll be difficult to replace. :(

Now, mum is left to do all the housework. I feel so bad. Also, her birthday is coming up. It's this Thursday and I hope she doesn't feel too stressed out with the lost of a good helper.

I'm feeling quite sad this morning..It feels as if i've lost someone dear. Arrgh, I hate this feeling!!! It's totally unbearable!!!

Never underestimate a woman's intuition

Before I left the house, I was having this nagging feeling that I'll bump into my ex..perhaps with another girl.

Ya, that is actually one of my biggest fears (bumping into my ex on a date, when I'm dateless :P). I can't imagine how i'd react. I don't wanna end up looking like a fool right?

Do you know what I mean? Can anyone relate to this?

So anyway, I got ready and left the house earlier as I wanted to check out the Bazaar at the Curve before meeting up with the gals at The Apartment.

As I was browsing through the stalls, something just made me look towards TGIF and there he was...and next to him was another girl. (And more girls..and maybe a couple of guys) <--but i totally missed those other ppl. My initial reaction was to think that "he's on a date" <-- yups, at that moment, i only saw the girl beside him, no one else.

I was about to walk towards him and say hi, but i saw his "lansi" (stuck up) expression, so I walked (strutted) away with my head held high...I hope I look composed and poised.

I then walked to Apartment, got a table for 5 and called the girls.

I needed support, big time. They were all "on the way". And so, i did the next best thing I could think of.

I ordered something that'll calm my nerves....
Yes, champagne, I needed champagne....This is by far, the one drink I can rely on to make me really happy.

Ordered a glass of Rossini. It's made of strawberries, strawberry liquer, and champagne. Lethal as it's so yummy you can't tell it's lethal, you keep wanting more. But then when it hits you....

Rossini

Question: If you were me, what would you have done?

Moral of the story: Always trust your own intuition, especially when you're a woman. Always focus focus focus. And if all else fails, order a glass of bubbly to calm your nerves.

Oh, and make sure you look HOT all the time! :)

Praise the Lord

Last night before sleeping, I was praying.

No, I was actually having a conversation with the Lord.

I was asking Him, "Father, I don't know why, but why am I so calm? Why am I feeling such an overwhelming sense of peace in my heart that I'm not worried nor afraid of the scan tomorrow?"
Yes, there was an extra-ordinary sense of peace and calmness which enveloped me. I would have been scared if I was to go for a scan a year or so ago. I would have panicked.

I think embracing and meditating on God's word - His truth, have helped me alot. Without realising, my trust and faith in the Lord - that He is a great God, and He has plans to give me the best, more than I ever asked for, have made me stronger.

While praying, I've been reminded of His great love for me. =)

I remember there is a verse in the bible that tells us not to worry. I know that I'm His child, and if He is for me, who can be against me? For He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

A few scriptures came to mind. One of which was
Phil 4:13 I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.

Also, the part in the gospel where the Gentile woman who has been bleeding for 12 years touched His garment, and by her faith, she was healed immediately. And by faith, I claimed that for my healing too. Hallelujah!

I went to bed with a deep sense of peace in my heart.

~*~*~*The ultrasound*~*~*~

My gynae could not detect anything wrong in the ultrasound. whoopee. :)

Thing is, she's not sure what's causing the prolonged bleeding. But according to her, it may be a "one off" thing. I've been informed that it should go on for maybe another 5-7 days, and I was asked to observe the flow of the bleeding.

If it doesn't stop by then, or if the flow gets heavier, I should consult her immediately.

I'm to see her again in a month's time for follow up.

Only thing is, I'm losing so much blood lately, I've been having these fainting spells on and off..Besides feeling very woozy as if I could pengsan (faint) anytime, I've been feeling like sleeping all the time, and of cos please excuse me if I sounded blur to you. I think my brains have lack of oxygen or something.

Don't worry I should be OK. ;) . Also, thanks for your prayers. Muaaakkisses~

Doc has prescribed iron and folic acid tablets to help me generate my haemoglobins back.

~*~*~*ISC's event*~*~*~

I was given a day's Medical Leave today cos she wanted me to rest as my blood pressure was pretty low. But I declined cos there's an event organised by the International Student Council (ISC) at work today, and I've promised to help out.

Oh, did i mention that I met this cute local model, Adrian Jalaludin at the event? He was one of the judges and I had to entertain him at the VIP room prior to the commencement of the event. Adrian is not only a hottie, he's also very talented. He's currently hosting a sports programme (or is it a WIP? Sorry I can't remember if the programme is on air already or not :P) for Astro.

I just found out that Adrian is also one of our students. He's currently studying mass communication at LCS. I told him I bet all the girls in his class are drooling over him. And he being ever so humble, denied.

22 year-old Adrian has lotsa potential!

Another happy thing:
Digi's Yellowman attended our event today as one of the sponsors. He was so damn adorable and really made all of us laughed. At one point, when I was ushering the VIPs into the hall, he (yes, he as in he the Yellowman) actually went in together with our VIPs and was waving vividly to the audience. Naturally, the audience was amused and had a great time. I had to reluctantly usher him out. :P

Disturbing one of our students. Btw, she wasn't aware that he was behind her, making funny faces.

The Yellowman goes shopping.

Er...why is he looking at a pair of yellow pants???!!?!?

We were dressed in traditional costumes as it's an international multicultural event.
Giang, my Vietnamese student in her Au-dai. Me in saree.

I can't wait to upload my pix with the Yellowman. Gotta wait till I get it from the photographer :P

A tad bit worried...

Yes I am a tad bit worried..

I have been bleeding for 3 out of 4 weeks this month. Yup, it first started as normal for 5 days, then it stopped. 2 weeks later, I got my period again..and I'm still bleeding, it'll be 2 weeks soon. So all in all, that's 3 weeks altogether this month.

And trust me, I'm so drained out. Been really exhausted, feel really lethargic. Also, while i was practising my dance (yes, I've finished choreographing three dances for our annual dinner performance for my team), I felt like fainting.

So I visited my GP yesterday and she's written a referral for me to consult with a gynae. I'm gonna get a scan to see if everything is a-ok.

I'm booked an appointment for tomorrow (cos I've got too many appointments and trainings to follow up today).

I'm praying and hoping that there's nothing to worry about.

Justice prevails

I was out of the office the whole of today for a very important marketing brainstorming session - which turned out really fantastic. We came up with lotsa creative, out-of-the-box ideas and i enjoyed every minute of it.

This meeting is very unlike most of the workshop/sessions/meetings that we've conducted out of office, which I've attended. It was a session where we really got the chance to throw our ideas as well as speak our minds to the big bosses without having to worry if those are "sensitive issues".

It was nice to bond with the upper management and to know that they too are humans, and they too fear rejections sometimes.

Our objectives and mission for the day (and i daresay the whole of next year) were met.

We had our brainstorming session at Cititel hotel. Well, seriously I have nothing much to comment about this hotel. The only good thing is probably the location (obviously). Mind you, we had no choice as most of the other hotels were fully booked.

The buffet lunch was HORRIBLE guys. The mussels were not fresh, the deep fried crabs were tasteless, the selection of food was sad..

The day was redeemed when I got this sms from STAR saying, "Dog catching competition by the Selayang Municipal Council has been scrapped: council to work with SPCA to catch stray dogs".

I was thrilled that our petition worked. Yay, at least those doggies out there won't have to suffer anymore. And someone was actually listening too!

My friend, Donald was so right when he commented about how silly this whole bloody thing was(see his comments on previous post).

But now that I have more time to think, I'm a lil skeptical about this whole collaboration with SPCA thing.

Tell me, what will they do to the doggies once they've captured them? Will SPCA put them up for adoption? or will they just put those poor doggies down?

Insane and inhumane!!!

Have you heard about the current dog hunting activity organised by the Selayang council?

Well, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the banner flashing, boldly promoting such an inhumane act!

(warning to all animal lovers out there, it is quite shocking/painful to read. ouch!).

This is really sick!!!

They are offering RM15k for the 1st prize winner, RM13k to the second prize and RM11k to the third prize winner. I hope no one is willing to succumb to the temptation and take up this @#$% challenge.

Feeling frustrated and angry? I don't know about you, but I am!!!

Why don't you do something about it?

Sign a petition to stop such cruelty to animals.

I've just signed mine, I'm signature no 4322.
Please please please spread the word around and tell your friends about it.

Together, we can make a difference.

Home at last

My pohpoh has finally been discharged from the hospital to go home.

We're all so relieved.

She's been subjected to so much pain lately that our spirits were dampened having to see her suffering. For one, the doctors have been doing lotsa tests, xrays, scans, as well as blood sample testing every single day, that we're finally glad it's over.

The day before, they found increased amount of white blood cells count as compared to red blood cells (haemoglobin). And they suspected...

Anyhoo, the report isn't firmed yet. I'm gonna keep praying. Shall let go and let God do the rest.

Dear heavenly Father,
I ask of you to heal my grandma completely. Renew her youth and health. Grant her strength to recover and fill her heart with your love and peace. Remove the pain and sickness from her. Lord, your word is final ..not the doctors'. Lord, I pray for everyone in the family who's taking care of her. I ask of you to give them the strength and emotional support to go through such trying time. Bless everyone with good health and a positive attitude. Amen.

Just be careful

A series of incidences which I heard recently has rang the alarm bell in my system.
I am kinda frightened.

Firstly, my sister Caryn was injured by a snatch thief. She was out clubbing one night with her friends. On the way back, their car (all of them were in one car, and Caryn was sitting on the front passenger seat), her bf called, and she answered the call.

As their car was stalled during a traffic light, in a split second from answering her call, the next thing she knew - the window on her side was smashed by a guy on a motorbike. And he was struggling with her to grab her mobile phone off her.

At one point, it was a tug-of-war between Caryn's friends and the thief.

The thief however, nearly pulled my sis out of the window. This forced her to let go of her mobile. And she was bleeding all over due to the broken glasses.

This is so freaky!

I mean, how can the thief know when she's gonna answer the call? For exactly how long has the guy/guys been monitoring them? Or was it an ad-hoc operation?

~*~*~*Another incident*~*~*~

As I was telling my girl friends about my sister's mishap, one of them received a call from her sister.

The sister was walking along her neighbourhood with her husband and baby girl when the three of them were cornered and surrounded by 4 Malay guys at knife point - right outside their house!

The sister actually ran away with her baby girl as she feared for her daughter's safety. And the 4 thugs threathened the husband instead. He was robbed of the RM1000 in his pocket.

The thing was, this happened after the police has done the daily rounding.

Which brings me to a point...how safe are we actually?

Girls, get yourself a pepper spray - learn how to use it. Pick up some city survival as well as self defense skills.

Worried

My uncle just called to inform mum that grandma is not well. She was having high fever earlier and is now pretty weak.
:(

Can I ask you to pray together with me for my grandma to recover quickly and regain her health and strength?

Thank you. God bless you all!

Thoughts for the weekend

I've been thinking.... like seriously thinking of cleaning up my act.

I'm sick of waking up with a hangover every Sunday morning..
I'm sick of missing the service in church - which i've been planning to go but always end up skiving becos:
1) i've overslept
2) i have a major hangover to nurse
3) i'm just way to tired...

I went to Cynna last nite and came home around 4+am. I actually woke up at 10am this morning (cos I received a call from Tiffany, Jazz's mummy telling me that they've just flown in from Melby into Spore...whoopee!! I'm gonna plan a trip down to Spore to see my kai lui).

The girls: Me, Mel, Celine, Theresa

The gang: Hans, Mike, Eric, Me, Theresa, Celine. Mel and her bf were missing in action.

Me and Casper

Okie, back to the story before i digress further...

What i'm trying to say is that..i've been saying for months that i wanna wake up for church at 10am for the 11am service. But i have not been able to do so for months!

Well, the thing is i actually managed to wake up this morning. BUT i could not get my hands, legs as well as my mind to co-operate. None of them bothered to even move a muscle for me. And worse, i was still groggy (am still!) from the booze.

I find this frustrating!

I am just so sick of this feeling..i remember feeling like this last week, as well as the week before and the week before that...blah blah blah..

You get the gist.

I now officially declare that i'll lay off alcohol for the next month 3 weeks 2 weeks.

OK, 2 weeks it is then. I'll start slow - by taking baby steps first la.

I don't care if i'm gonna be going to PD with the gals for Theresa's bday next weekend. I shall not drink. I shall not get a hangover. And I shall be in control of my booze!!

:)

You can officially call me a liar if I go drinking again these 2 weeks. Now, i'm sure this will encourage me to keep to my resolution. Hey, it might just work! :P

~*~*~*Plans for the day*~*~*~

I'm glad that i have absolutely nothing urgent to attend to today.

And i plan to take the day real slow. *big grin*

First of, i'll start by bathing the 4 monsters at home. They're in need of some serious grooming since this mummy of theirs have been working every weekend and have not much time to untangle their matted hair. :P

Cocoa is so gonna enjoy her spa session today.

Secondly, i'm gonna do some grocery shopping with my maid. Oh, did i tell you i simply love grocery shopping? Retail therapy is the best way to de-stress i tell ya. i love going from aisle to aisle looking for ingredients and surprising myself with whatever i could find and then whip up a dish at home.

After all that, I'm gonna start my Korean movie marathon.. =)

Ahhhh..i love Sundays!

All's well

~*~*~* All's well*~*~*~

I just wanna thank all of you who cared and showed your concerns about what happened.

i really do not wanna talk about what happened cos i dont wanna relive those "shock" moments and feelings like as if i had no control at all. i was traumatised for that 1 hr to say the least.

Would like to update you that everything turned out ok in the end and there was no major drama-drama.

Never know till it's gone...

~*~*~*Never know till it's gone..*~*~*~

They say that you'll never truly know how much someone means to you until you lose that person..

Something frightening happened to me yesterday, which made me realised how important that person is in my life.

I freaked out big time when i thought he was gone...When i was in that blur state of not knowing what to do, glimpses of him kept flashing in my mind. I was remembering the times we spent together and the sheer thought of him gone gave me goose bumps.

i was paralysed with fear and i couldnt even press the right button to call the emergency number, i kept pressing '777' instead of '999'. my mind wasn't thinking straight and my hands and legs were not functioning in sync.

i was scared to death.

i do know now how important you are to me. i meant to tell you i have always love you. i do.

Indian new year

~*~*~* Indian New Year *~*~*~

Friday the 13th!

It's such a long day today...(will tell you why later)..

The day started off pretty good. Brought my saree to change and lots of the other gals chimed in to see how Prema's gonna help me put on my beautiful saree.

Why am i wearing a saree? it's Indian new year tomorrow.

Follow these step-by-step if you wanna learn how to wear a saree..

Introducing Prema, the saree mistress!

Ta-dah! Done =)

Honestly, i dun think i'll be able to put on a saree by myself. It's just too tedious.

~*~*~* What a day *~*~*~

After putting on my saree, i was happily doing my work, when the security guard from our building approached me to tell me, "Miss, your car window is broken. Those guys mowing the lawn did it. A stone flew over and broke your window".

Oh gee..

Was i glad that someone came to inform me of this. Elvin told me it's indeed a blessing. Imagine if no one told me and i wasnt able to catch the culprits. Damn.

Anyway, spoke to those Alam Flora guys..Called their supervisor. The guy was a little unreasonable at first, saying that i shouldnt have parked there. Hello, it was our own property. He said he wanted to report to MPSJ. But my tailo (elder bro at work) Elvin managed to outspeak him and said that "you can report all you want, but since you fellas damaged her property, you still have to pay".

After a while, the guy relented and brought us to his workshop.

Whilst driving to the workshop, i was pretty scared. There were pieces of glass everywhere. And every turn i made, i could hear clanking sounds as the glass hit stuffs in my car.

Now, let's pray that i'll be able to get my car back by this evening. It's not easy to find a replacement for RAV4 you see. And i do have an evening planned for 2nite. I also need my car 2moro...

Please Lord, help me get my car back today. Oh Lord, i ask that the condition of the car will be like new. Amen.

Thanks to the Alam Flora guys who did the damage to my beloved car.

Post note: Well guys, i managed to get my car back and the window was original toyota parts too. =) The damage cost RM450, thank God I didnt have to pay for that :p. I only paid the workshop owner RM10 for wash and vacuum. =)

Attack of the suits!

~*~*~*Attack of the suits!*~*~*~

Q: Who wears suits after 9pm?

A: Direct sales ppl la!

sorry, the picture couldn't show the MLMers in their full garbs as i was trying to be discreet and they were sitting at the other end. Mind you..they took up the entire area.

Was at Mckers Sect 14 the other night. It was around 10:45pm when suddenly, the place was swarmed with men and women wearing suits.

And there i was gobsmacked and trying to figure out who these china bengs were.

Until it hit me that these are MLMers doing their bonding after their training/recruitment.

I didn't know Mcker's could be this happening this time of the night.

Paranoid

~*~*~*Paranoid*~*~*~

The earthquake in Sumatra two days ago not only shook both our TBS and ADP buildings, it shook my nerves too!

The first earthquake happened at 11:50am (got the news from STAR sms) but nobody felt anything.

At about 1pm, Claudine called. "Jie, TBS building shook! We are asked to evacuate...So, no more classes for today!"

I was out having lunch with my colleagues at the time. And some of them thought i was pulling a joke. We were all hoping that it was a prank, cos we didnt wanna be locked out of the office as we all had lots to do. <<-- i was especially pissed, cos i had some super urgent matters to revert back to our PR agency, as well as designers. sigh..

Yups, when we approached the office. Everyone was out. We were all waiting for the fire brigade and building engineer to arrive and assess the situation.

This happened before a few months back, in Nov when the earthquake hit Medan, with Richter scale of 6.4. And we were all kept out of the buildings for 3 hrs. Now, barely less than half a year later, there's another earthquake.

Horror horror!

I seriously wonder how many of such earthquakes (spillover effect) can our buildings withstand.

=(

Did any one of you feel the tremor? Are you feeling as paranoid as i?
