09092006 sure was an auspicious day for me. :D

I've just bought my new Sony Ericsson W810i in white (it's a limited edition).

Today is also the wedding of my highschool mate, Kaylyn, to her husband Wei Chung.

I guess one of the reasons why they’re getting married on this day is because of the 9 – 9 combination. Chinese likes the sound of the 9th day of the 9th month, it sounds auspicious as it denotes everlasting union.

Only Yakhsha, moi, and Jun at the wedding. The rest of the Amanians couldn't make it. They are all scattered everywhere - Melbourne, UK, and US. We missed you gals! It's just not the same without you here.

Here comes the bride..all dressed in the groom's family heirloom. Wei Chung's grandma used to be a kimono maker. This kimono has been passed down for generations. Wei Chung's mum (who's a Japanese) gave a thank you speech in nihongo as quite a lot of the guests present were nihon jin.

I’d like to take this opportunity to wish both Kay and her hubby a very wonderful walk together as man and wife. And may the Lord bless the two of you with a wonderful home filled with love, joy and peace.

Kay's cousin was one of the MCs for the night. She serenaded us with a lovely Japanese song.

We finally get to have a moment with the bride. It's so difficult to catch up these days, esp with Kay working in NZ.

What are weddings without these ice-carved swans? Classic man!

Both Kay and her hubby are doctors in Kiwiland.

It was a most grand event. I’ve never seen so many doctors under one roof before. Since both Kay and her husband are doctors, naturally a big chunk of their friends are of similar profession.

And since our table is like just right beside the doctors’ table, Jun and I joked about faking a fainting spell so that a cute doctor might come and rescue us…muahahaha

On the way to the restroom, Jun, Yakhsha and i discovered another wedding being held at the next ballroom. Oh gosh, it’s got such a fairy-tale like theme.

It looks like the Malays find 09092006 an auspicious day too!

The 3 of us couldn't resist taking a picture of this wonderful theme. We felt as if we were gatecrashing the wedding cos the photographers assumed we were guests there and snapped our photos too! Can't imagine the couple browsing through the photos and wondering who these 3 women are. Gatecrashers!!

Malayali fish curry

This one is for all fish curry lovers out there..

Got this recipe for my colleague Sarah, who got them from her mother-in-law who hails from Malayali (a region in India).

I tried this out last week. And these are the comments I got so far “Wow, damn good man! Better than those in restaurant!”, “The curry is damn yummy…but the problem is there is not enough rice to go with it..all gone!”, “Very good curry girl. You make this dish next time we have a party ok?”. Positive responses all the way man! =)

Sounds delicious? Wait till u try them out…

It’s quite simple to DIY. And I’m gonna share it with u… :D

Here’s how you do it.

Ingredients

Fish cutlets
Chilli powder
Tumeric powder (kunyit)
Mustard seeds
Curry leaves
One big white onion
3 packets of coconut milk (fresh ones from the market if possible)
Green chilli
Red chilli
Lime
Tomatoes
Sugar
Salt

Make a thick paste out of chilli powder, tumeric powder and salt. Marinade the fish cutlets in this (overnight in the fridge is best).

Fry the marinated fish cutlets in hot oil and set aside- might want to put it on disposable kitchen towelettes so that it absorbs the oil.

Panfry the white onions, curry leaves and mustard seeds until the onions are glassy. Add in tumeric powder and tumis. Add in coconut milk, salt and sugar and lime to taste. Add in sliced tomatoes.... not for too long though or they will disintegrate. Pour it over the fried fish and viola!

Today, mummy signed me up for some kinda contest. I dunno wat it is but mummy made a big fuss grooming me.

Me and mummy wearing our winter knits! It's so cold here in Melbourne.

Mummy put on so many hairclips on my head...gosh! look at all my bling-blings!!

In the waiting hall, awaiting my turn for the modelling contest interview shoot. i dunno why but i felt somethin in my tummy..Mummy said i've butterflies in my stomache..ewwww!!

Mummy taught me some breathing techniques. She also advised me to "believe in myself". Mummy said i'll be able to pose better when i'm relax..She qouted Tyra Bank wor.

Gotta distract myself. So i picked up some mags and tried to learn a few tricks on how pose like those models! :p

*yawn* I'm so bored... and sleepy. Wats wif the weather lately? I'm freeeeeezzzing!

A friend forwarded these recipes to me. According to her, it's a total-wellness-health-drink recipe wor.

Now, I can't quite guarantee that it works. But i certainly have no qualms trying it out as i totally dig fruit juices: sweet, sour, the lot!

(psst..I heard papaya can increase the size of your bust...aiyer, should have eaten loads of papaya last time!!!)

Promise to self: MUST drink a different combo everyday. I want radiant complexion, Bigger boobs, and a totally healthier me! :D
