It's a baby girl!

~*~*~*It's a baby girl*~*~*

Congratulations to Dina and Ben for the arrival of their bundle of joy, baby Kiara Putri Budiarto Mok.

=)

Kiara was born on the 12th June (same birthday as her great grandma) at 6:30pm, in Sydney. She weights 3.41kg and is 53cm tall.

This cute baby girl and her mummy are both in the pink of health. They will be returning to their residence in Artamon this coming Sat.

Mummy, Dee came up with the name Kiara. When asked how she came up with it, I was told she found the name in her dream. =). Now baby Kiara, you know you're special.

What her daddy, Ben is saying:
"OMG she looks like me, a real cantonese!!!!!
And she definitely has the trademark MOK nose".

Sorry I won't be able to return to Sydney to attend the full moon party guys, I'll make it up someday okie?

Dee and Ben, may the Lord bless your family with lotsa happiness, love, joy and peace. May you find much joy in nurturing and bringing up your lil baby girl. Amen.

China-man

~*~*~*China-man*~*~*~

Last night's topic with the girls while having a cuppa at Flasher's Bean Coffee Bean was all about China-man and anything Cina-mali.

Which reminds me of this dialogue i came across when i was running to and fro during an event at work. It was one of the most funny conversations i've ever overheard. I couldnt quite contain myself actually.

You've gotta tune in to this dialogue between 2 very Cina-mali colleagues of mine.

Please note that i've obtained consents from both of them before I published this post. And there was no intention whatsoever to offend anyone. Also, they are PROUD to be a Chinamen themselves. Look if you're offended, it may be that you think that being a China-man is not a good thing. So, you may be the one who discriminates okie?

Introducing CM1

Introducing CM2

Says one Chinaman to another..

CM1: Wei, u knoe why u look so Cina-man ar?
CM2: No leh, why ar?
CM1: It's the way u dress la! aiyer
CM2: Eh, how i dress la?
CM1: See la, u wear the tie-pin liddat. So cina-man look! tsk tsk

-_-

I had to stop what i was doing to try to decipher what CM1 was trying to tell CM2. It was so damn funny. Coming from one Cina-mali to another. Apa-lah!

I was flabbergasted...

And so i said..

Carrie: HAh! Who are u to tell him that he looks like a China-man dude?
CM1: He looks like one wat. Look at his tie-pin? The flower? Aiyoh!
Carrie: Eh hello. You also China-man wat.
CM1: Yalor. I know i am. But i'm much better than him la. I'm less China-man.
Carrie: Yeah, you have improved heaps since u met me tailo. Now, it's time to funk up the hairdo ya. :P
CM1: Thanks thanks. *blush*

China-man - why you love them
you like them becoz they're so damn practical and do not fuss about what they wear or what you wear. So you needn't worry about your china-man complaining about your looks.

China-man - why you hate them
you hate them coz they do not give a damn even when you painstakingly doll yourself up for them - don't bother, they wouldn't have noticed anyway! They're more concerned about how much the dress cost than how good you look in it.

China-man, do you love them? or hate them?

Easy breezy lazy Sunday

~*~*Easy breezy lazy Sunday*~*~

i love weekends! (yeah, who doesn't?)

i love the fact that i can wake up at whatever time i like.

i can wake up very early in the morning to hit the gym, or wake up really late and have a chilling, late brunch. Ahhh..such bliss!

There's one thing that i have not been doing for a while with my galfrens...

and that is having:

Breakfast at La Bodega.

My big breakfast

Today, i was adamant to make sure that we could all make it for breakfast brunch.

It was high time for me to catch up with both Shuk Yee and Michele.

L-R: Mich, me, Shukz

Shuk Yee was telling us all about how her beau proposed to her. And we were all super excited planning for her wedding. Shukz will be tying the knot next Feb.

Mich will be throwing her a hen's night party or we might just do an extravagant all day spa treatment for the girls.

I've been delegated the job of the Head of Bridal entourage (again!). In short, i'll be the leader of the troop to play pranks on/punish the bridegroom's entourage so that they'll have a difficult time trying to come into the bride's house. I'll also ensure that they pay us big angpows! hehehe

Shukz even told us that we'll be involved in the pre-wedding photos as well. Alright, don't panic, there's still time for me to lose weight. :P. All 3 of us will be trying to lose weight together-gether. LOL!

After brunch, we went boutique-hopping.

1st stop: Mooie.

i bought this dress. i thought it look a lil puffy but the girls said it's nice. hmm, no wonder i'm always broke when i shop with these girls. We so love to encourage each other to buy, buy and buy. Girls we've gotta stop saying this "you've so gotta buy that dress/blouse/skirt girl".

i still remember when we were younger (about 14 then) we all (San, Mich, Shukz and me) used to play dress up at Shukz' place. That's the place we'll get ourselves ready before we head off for parties.

San, we miss you. You've so gotta come back from Melby to attend Shukz wedding dearie!

2nd stop: Cats whiskers

Sorry no piccies cos we didnt buy anything there.

3rd stop: Zara @ Bangsar Village 2, Vincci, Warehouse.

Shukz in a dilemma as she's not sure whether she should get this top as there's a tiny rip on it. It's the last piece. Mich was saying, "You have to buy this!". So Shukz gonna check out the other Zara branches for this same top. It was a very sweet top. We all loved it.

4th stop: Oopsy Daisy

They've got nice dresses and accessories here too. Very Carrie.

5th stop: Gossips

We loved their accessories and shoes.

We felt as if all these shopping wasn't enough to banish our cravings. We wanted more but it seems as if we've raided the whole of bangsar for nice clothes and there's nothing else interesting to check out.

Oh well, we still have next week. Or the week after. :P

I'd have to say the highlight of the day was when I was touching up here.

I was trying out their hand moisturiser and nearly choked to death cos it smelled funny. The smell was OFF big time! I had to ask Mich and Shukz to smell and rate how bad it smelled.

haha..i rubbed some of the lotion on them too so that we all smell equally yummy :P

Girls, thank you for coming out. I had a really good time catching up with you babes. It was so much fun just hanging out, picking out clothes for each other, and doing silly things like how we used to.

Shrek 3

~*~*~*Shrek 3*~*~*~

Last night's movie with Mon was fun. I thoroughly enjoyed myself watching Shrek 3. It was so hilarious. What with the antics of the donkey and the cute kitty cat ala Antonio Banderas. AhHhhh..

Justin Timberlake voices the role of Artie, the outcast/loser in his high school. He was kinda scrawny unlike the JT in real life though. His character was still pretty cute nonetheless. It would be nice if he could bring 'sexy back' to animation too! :P

My favourite part was when all the princesses (Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel and Fiona) teamed up to save Shrek. It was so funny watching these well mannered and poised beauties fighting. =) Girl power..pwoar!

I personally prefer Shrek 3 to 2.
Which one do you like best?

Bet you didn't know:
A musical version of Shrek is currently in development, with a goal of reaching Broadway in 2008. The book and lyrics are being written by reigning Pulitzer Prize-winner David Lindsay-Abaire.

Random thoughts

~Random thoughts~

Can't wait to watch Shrek 3 tomorrow. Mon's got free tix for us both and I'm so excited.

Why? Cos i love Justin Timberlake. =) This sexy babe is the voice-over for the prince i heard. wOooHOo.

I can't help but wonder how Cameron Diaz feels about being in the same production as her ex-beau.

~*More random thoughts*~

I've been pigging out on Mcker's seaweed shaker fries every other day. :P

This is all thanks to the fact that the seaweed flavoured shaker will only be around until the 20th of June. =(

And i know i'll regret not having more cos i damn love those damn fries.

Oh yeah, did you know that you do not need to have the fairy tale foldover set meal in order to enjoy those ogre-licious (thanks for the terminology Mel) shaker fries. Just buy a normal value meal or just plain fries and top up by paying RM0.80 for the seaweed seasoning.

Sounds good eh?

I'm off to get myself more fries again. Ahh.. what an absolute blissful way to mark the end of the working week.

I LOVE FRIDAY's! :)

Everyone's talking about

~*~*Everyone's talking about*~*~

The office was abuzz with speculations yesterday when news that our PM (fondly known as Pak Lah) will be getting hitched to Jeanne Abdullah this weekend was out.

Some were shocked, as they weren't expecting our PM who always looked the role of a doting and loving husband to the late Endon could be getting wed so soon.

Moreover, he's marrying Endon's brother's ex-wife.

The ladies were in a heated discussion while having breakfast in the pantry this morning. Most could not accept this fact. When asked, they said they'd prefer and would be more receptive if he'd marry someone else, someone who is not running his household and not related in any way.

Perhaps it's the female territorial instinct screaming, "don't eat and shit in the same house!".

On the other hand, we have some who merely shrugged and said, "Love is a feeling, and maybe she was there for him when he lost Endon. And perhaps their feelings for each oher just grew..".

True, when it comes to love, who are we to judge?

All these talks have just roused my gossip juices further.

You know, i get my daily dose of celebrity gossips from Perezhilton.com. Trust me, you'll get the latest and most concentrated juicy gossips here. Mr Perez is undoubtedly the Queen of all media.

So what's the talk of the town at the moment? (or maybe this is already old news by now)

Let's hear it from Mr Perez himself !

[*note: the following article is obtained from here]

John Mayer has dumped Jessica Simpson yet again, and this time, People reports - it's truly the end.

What they said: "It has been rocky and it had been rocky, and it reached the end of the road," a source close to Mayer tells People. "It is definitely over - the relationship has ended."

What they wish they could really say: "He dumped her. He's already banged three groupies. He'd rather screw Ken Paves than get back together with Jessica!"

What they said: "They broke up Sunday night, but who knows what the future will hold," says a Simpson source. "This is the twelfth time they've broken up. Their relationship is volatile. Last week they felt better than ever. This week, things are rocky. Who knows what the future will bring. "

What they wish they could really say: "We need to spin this so that Jessica doesn't seem like a loser."

What they said: "Every relationship has its differences, but with Jessica and John those differences were starting to become more and more apparent," says the Mayer source.

What they wish they could really say: "They had NOTHING in common! We're surprised they made it last this long. John was mesmerized by her boobs. Jess was using him for publicity. Thank God it's over."

Amen

9 WORDS WOMEN USE

A girl friend forwarded this to me. And gosh, i find it somewhat very true. LOL!

Ladies, i'm sure you'll have a good laugh cos you can so relate to this.

Gentlemen, it may be a good idea for you guys to learn up these 9 simple words and their 'actual' meanings.

~*9 Words Women Use*~

(1) Fine

This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

(2) Five Minutes

If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.

(3) Nothing

This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with 'nothing' usually end in 'fine'.

(4) Go Ahead

This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!

(5) Loud Sigh

This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.)

(6) That's Okay

This is one of the most dangerous statements a woman can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

(7) Thanks

A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just say you're welcome.

(8) Whatever

It's a woman's way of saying F@#k you!

(9) Don't worry about it, I've got it

Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking "What's wrong?" For the woman's response refer to #3.
