To MSN with LOVE

I was on the phone recently with CS and he was like, “So, how are you? You okay or not? How’s the relationship with Chef?”

All these questions started flying in and I was like, “Whoa..How did he know that I’m not feeling too good la?”

True enough, I was having a rough patch with Chef. Got some issues la. (Now, that will warrant another post altogether. BUT don’t count on me writing about it here…There are too many dodgy spies lurking around my blog, which scares the shit out of me sometimes).

Well, back to our conversation..

Carrie: Eh, boy how you know wan?
CS: Eh, your msn profile message says it all what.

Oops, you mean, it was written all over msn? And I was that transparent???

Quick, what have I typed on my msn profile recently? *think think think*

Currently, it says “Perpetual headache
Prior to that, it was “We’re not on the same page, you know?
Before that, it was “We should just start anew, dun cha think?

Hmm..

It goes without saying that in our wireless age these days, the best and fastest form of communication is the internet. And msn messenger is like the place where your friends get first hand information about your emotional state – whether you’re feeling emo, agro, docile or simply complacent. Heck, when we post a profile message, a big chunk of it would be linked with either:

a) the current Relationship status – “Thanks for the Valentine’s day roses Dan! Love you to bits!”
b) Work – “Arghh.. my slave driver boss is driving me crazy!”
c) Others with include our day-to-day updates –
"No carbs for a month. This is day two! :("
“Brand new Sony Ericsson C902 anyone?” – heck, it even serves as a fantastic commercial ground, that's altogether FOC to boot!
“Food poisoning :(”

I would sincerely like to thank the genius who invented msn messenger. I really have no clue what I’ll do without such convenience. Everything is at the tip of my fingers, a single click away. Isn’t this fantastic?

Just ONE question though, when it comes to openly revealing the state of your mind or emotions, will you or won’t you?

Carmen's Fab Birthday!

The last time we went to Elcerdo (in Dec), we liked it so much.

So much so that Carmen said that we might as well just make a reservation for her birthday in Feb.

So yes, with anticipation we all waited for the big day to finally arrive. And boy, were we happy to indulge (yet again!) in a porky-oink oink-feast.

Funnily we were seated on the same table again. But this time, we switched our sitting position so as to not appear EXACTLY the same as the last.

Candid shot!

Creamy soup of the day filled with bacon bits.

Boquerones (bacon stuffed with white wine marinated anchovies) and marinated pork shoulder steak.

My favourite crispy pork served on a bed of rockets

My fave gals!

Yet another milestone for us!

The birthday gal cutting the suckling pig..

She was to cut it with a plate..

*Crash boom bang*

And whatever you wished for will come true. Amen!

Half a piglet

Birthday surprise!!

We had to sing the "Happy birthday to you..oink oink" song!

Another of my favourite..

Their Yin Yang dessert is to die for!

Werner giving her instructions on how to make a wish, and ensures that it'll come true..

Werner said, "All you need to do is make a wish and joyfully serve each of your friend the dessert..starting from the oldest!"

So she started with Mon..

And proceeded to me...before going to Cindy.
Now you know who's the baby in the group. :p

Melted centre chocolate cake served with ice cream, marinated cherry and a cute piggy!

I prefer the Yin Yang we had the last time.

This time round we requested for Werner to 'serve with a twist'. And served with a twist he did, he added bacon bits in the sherbet.

ERm..let's just say that i prefer the one where he added refreshing tea leaves instead of bacon bits! Ugh..

Men loving the blue piglet!

Happy birthday woman!

XOXOXOXOXO

Me love you lots!

Post dinner..

We went to Flo Bar for drinks..

And we dared each other to pose with this stalk of gerbera...

Carmen, may whatever you wished for come true this year..with immediate effect! :)
Stay fabulous always!

Jazz is 2 years old!

**letter from Tiffany**
Dearest Carrie,

Your kai lui, Jazz turned 2 years old many moons ago..in Oct last year, actually.

Dun worry, i know you've been busy dating and working.

I just wanna thank you again for all the clothes u bought for Jazz. This lil princess always looks very very pretty whenever she dons on something you bought (yups, ppl always pay lots of compliments whenever she wears the dresses you bought her).

I'm so proud of her and am proud to be her mom :p.

Jazz is so lucky this year, she had 4 birthday cakes in 4/5 different mini celebrations.

1st celebration

We had pot luck dinner at our home. Had a gathering with our Malaysian friends in Melby in-conjunction with Jazz's birthday.

Jazz ripping open the pressie from Aunty Clara.

Doesn't Jazz look like an angel in the dress you bought her? I love it.

2nd celebration

At Uncle John and Aunty Mia's place.

Jazz enjoys jumping on the trampoline in John's backyard. Good thing she gets to release her excess energy here. She usually jumps on our bed at home.

Jazz after a good jump on the trampoline - love her rosy cheeks .

Jazz says, "Papa supports Manchester but Uncle John supports Liverpool?! But they are still buddies!"

3rd celebration

With friends from playgroup.

Last year, when you gave her this pretty red number, it was too big. Now, she's fully grown into it. Pretty eh?

The little boy is her Ben 'kor kor' from Msia.

Her 4th celebration.

Celebrated with her friends from her childcare centre. Yes, she's wearing another one of the pretty dresses you bought for her last year. She loves the fish motifs.

We drew a cake on the easel for her.

The little girl with big eyes next to Jazz named is Mercedes - Jazz's favorite friend there.

5th celebration

Mothers group - joint birthday celebration

My lil princess looking divine

She loves opening her pressies. Aww..such a big gal now.

The two birthday gals.

Can't wait to meet up with you this coming March. Will let you know when I arrived in Singapore.

Love,
Tiff

CNY 2009 - Day 2

~*~*~*Lin Chor Yee*~*~*~

Chef came to visit my parents ('pai lin') on Day 2 (Lin Chor Yee) of CNY.

Thanks to him I've got these nice piccies of me and my 4 monsters to cherish. :)

I'm sure Miss Cocoa Chanel needs no introduction here..

She's the mummy of the 3 boys at home...
She acts like a queen around the house too.

Xiao Bai is her third pup from her 1st batch of litter.

There were five of them. Xiao Huan (now with Tiff and Jazz in Melby), Xiao Au (Donald passed him to a loving family), Xiao Bai, Xiao Ban, and Xiao Mei (she's lovingly doted by Donald's family).
You can check out Xiao Mei's blog here.

He was given the name 'Bai' cos his marking was mostly white - 'Bai' in Mandarin. And when he gets his puppy cut, he reminds me of a big fluff of cotton candy.

I didn't get to take many piccies with Bai cos he wasn't in a good mood as he wasn't feeling well. He was hiding underneath a table or chair the entire time.

This is Xiao Ban.

Xiao Ban was given this name cos he had a huge stripey marking on his body when he was a puppy. Ban = stripe.

Xiao Ban is the smartest among the four. He absolutely loves to do things to please ppl - the first to come over when called, the first to learn how to give 'hand hand', etc.

A big Thank you goes to CS for helping me to come up with the Chinese names. Well, he's the expert when it comes to anything Chinese/Mandarin. I consulted him and together we came up with aptly suitable names according to each pup's characteristic or body marking.

Ban can look pretty girly at times :p

Both my boys Xiao Bai and Xiao Ban are turning 6 years old tomorrow. Happy happy birthday darlings!

This is CJ, the baby of the group. He's the 3rd pup from Cocoa's 2nd and last batch of litter.

Everyone adores him. He gets pampered by all the other dogs. He lives up to his reputation of a baby as he's still very playful though he's already 4 years old.

I have many nicknames for him. My favourites are: Bebe and Babelicious.

i find this pix of Bebe very cute

Ban, Bebe and Cocoa giving me the 'starry starry eyes' begging for CNY goodies. I was having 'kuih kapit' at the time.

~*~*~*CNY Yee Sang*~*~*~

Chef made his specialty Lou Sang/Yee Sang for my family that night.

He ordered a few kg of salmon for this occasion.

Nope, you're only seeing a fraction of the salmon. We had so much leftover salmon that I packed those salmon to go with my salad for work the next few days.

This is about as much salmon as we could fit on the platter.
You know how when you eat Yee Sang in restaurants, it's the condiments that overwhelms the fish cos you only get a few pieces. Here, the fish actually overwhelmed the rest of the fruits and veges.

We had an assortment of lettuces, radish, lebanese cucumber, grapes (de-seeded), cherry tomatoes, and pomegranate.

We all prefer this to the conventional ones at the restaurant.

Chef adding the finishing touch.

Viola!

For dressing, we had apricot balsamic vinegar + olive oil to go with the yee sang.

We had too much food to share among the six of us.

Dad made his steamed fish (which he caught) and mum made her special chicken.

Please ignore my horrible fringe. I had had a long day.

That's it folks! Till next time :)

xx
