Jo and Stephen are back from Spore and there's no better time than now to catch up.

We've all been meaning to have a gathering for months. And we're glad that we've finally came up with a plan to celebrate the coming of the new year..

We went to Opus for a post Xmas dinner last Sat.

Pre Xmas - Suan Loong's farewell party

We had an early xmas + farewell celebration on the 23 Dec for Suan Loong aka Jerry Blake. (don't ask me why I call him Jerry Blake. He instigated it by calling me Carrie Underwood).

For those of you who don't already know, SL is Claudine's bf. He has just left to pursue his education in the U.S. last Friday. And Claudine is super upset. Poor gal.

Suan Loong's family.

My doggies were super excited over the smell of good food. They were giving me those stares saying "we wanna eat too mummy. we want food. we want food".

Front: Cocoa Chanel
Back: Xiao Bai and Xiao Ban.

L-R: Cjay, Cocoa, Ban, Bai.

Cocoa trying her luck to see if she could get any food off me.

My siblings: Caryn, Claudine, Jeffrey

Ken and Caryn

Mum prepared her specialty dishes: DIY popia and Thai basil special rice.
And i made somtam again.

On the table : condiments for popia and the thai rice.

The thai basil special rice is a combination of the following:

Rice cooked with blended basial, lemon grass and other herbs,
Ikan kampong (de-boned),
Cucumber,
Pan fried desiccated coconut,
Sliced onion,
Lime slices,
Fish cracker,
Papadum.

Everyone busy wrapping his/her own popias.

Eating merrily.. :)

I was demonstrating to Jerry Blake's mum on how to DIY a popia.

#1 Spread the hoi sin sauce on the popia skin, you may add chilli sauce if you like it spicy.

#2 Add a slice of lettuce

#3 Top with any condiments of your choice. Here I added egg pieces, tofu pieces, dried shrimps, fried onions, and chinese sausage pieces.

#4 Add the seng kuang (turnip) next. Then, fold the skin and roll.

Viola!

This is the thai basil special rice. It's really really good though you can't really tell from the picture.

Mum made my favourite dessert: "tan dann" with ginger syrup (double boiled egg)

Bro and his gf J-ing, Lau and his gf.

We wish you all the very best Suan Suan. God bless xx.

Pre-Xmas - Camwhoring at the Curve

I'm seriously lagging behind with my posts. I'm overwhelmed with backlogs backlogs and more backlogs. :P

I've decided to just post some pre-Xmas pictures taken with my loved ones before I proceed to the next few posts.

Like they say, a picture speaks a thousand words. So, I'm so gonna just post these piccies without saying much..

Camwhoring at the Curve

Dad and mum decided to check out Caryn's Xmas display at the Curve. Out of the blue dad was like, "Come let's go and take some pictures at the Curve. We go support your sister ok?"

So the whole clan went (except my bro who's out on a date) to the Curve to camwhore.

The place was so crowded, it was difficult to take a decent picture without having strangers in the background.

Dad, mum, Caryn.

Me, mum, papa, Claudine

We very much like the whole "winter wonderland" concept. Bravo sis!

Nice cosy cabin...

My parents are quite good at camwhoring too eh. :P

The spirit of giving...

HO HO HO!!!

Here's wishing everyone a Merry merry Christmas. And as we bid farewell to 2007, a Happy happy new year ahead. :)

I baked some cupcakes on Christmas day.

This time they are for my colleagues as a boxing day pressie. I couldn't give them any earlier as they were mostly on leave pre Christmas.

Baked 2 batches of cupcakes.
1st batch: Blueberry cupcakes.

2nd batch: super moist decadent chocolate cupcakes.

My buttercream icing: pink, lilac, yellow, peach, dew green, apple green.

Unleashing my creativity.. :)

All up I've made about 50 cupcakes.

You know how I always have a concern about transporting my cupcakes right? Well, I've thought of a way to bring them to work. I actually cut some art cards as insertions in the box. Ta dah!

Have a blessed Christmas peeps! Hallelujah!
