All Hallows Eve

~*~*~*All Hallows Eve*~*~*~
Happy Halloween!
Chanced upon these cute looking pumpkins whilst doing groceries shopping over the weekend.

i find the whole painted face and mini feather boas amusing.

i also encountered some not-so-good-looking pumpkins (or maybe not..i dunno, but i think they're from the same family anyway). Some looked like corn (or pop corn), some were pimply, some were badly pigmentated... :p

Have you heard of corn strawberry? Well, i havent (yeah, call me "ulu", i dun care). Quite interesting.

hmm, i wonder if these corn strawberries are edible. If so, what would they taste like?

A day in the funfair

~*~*~*A day in the funfair*~*~*~
Went to the funfair in Bandar Utama (where Giant's parking is located) over the weekend. Was reduced to a lil girl all over again when i was there :P hehe

I have an irrational fear of heights, so i din get on the ferris wheels.

Looking at the amount of ppl queueing, i was quite turn off to enter. Ticket costs RM3 for adults and RM1.5 for kids. But i did anyway.

See how packed it was?

I spotted an ice cream stall. Stopped by to try the new kit-kat ice cream cone. The choc tasted damn kao of milo...trust Nestle to come out with something liddat.

Mini go kart for the kids and adults (if you dare!)

There were rides abundant!

i dunno what's the name of this ride. But if you observe the pix below carefully, u can see it taking off. The cars are flying...higher and higher~

and higher and higher...

Does the shape of this thingy (circled in red), remind u of something?

oh come on, it's really easy :p

Ta-dah! Presenting the Chupa Chups ride! i wonder who thought of it, must be a lolly lover.

Next ride, the carousel. This is my fave ride :)

A different kind of carousel. Look at how high you can go!

This was no doubt one of the scariest rides here. Could hear ppl screaming non-stop. It was pretty difficult to capture the pix as the movement was too fast and swift. You gotta see it to believe it.

The cars here look like some kinda prototypes of the Batmobile or something..

This is what I've been looking forward to...games stalls! i wanna win one of those big big plush toys!

1st stall: Lucky number.

How to play: Draw out a coupon, and if they number printed on the coupon is one of the numbers on the board, you win something.

Costs: 2 tokens (RM4)

2nd stall: Bingo stall

For the ol skool/gamblers-to-be

How to play: You're given a card, all you need to do is strike out the numbers that have been mentioned and shout bingo as loud as you can when all the numbers are striked out.

Costs: 3 tokens (by far the most expensive, but also one of the most popular booth!)

3rd stall: roll-ball-into-hole

How to play: the above name is self explanatory.

Costs: 2 tokens

4th stall : shooting game

How to play: aim and shoot. You gotta accummulate points to win.

Costs: 2 tokens.

This father playing with his son, kinda reminds of me how my dad used to teach my bro and i how to shoot. He used to win lotsa toys for us.

5th stall: Chicken little.

How to play: You're given 5 tiny hoops and when you toss the hoops, you gotta make sure that they land and wrap themselves around the bottles. Tough game. I used to think i kena con everytime i play this game. And this time round, it's even more difficult than it used to be.

Costs: 2 tokens for dunno how many hoops.

6th stall : Lucky number again...

How to play: similar to the previous lucky number game. Only difference is the prize u get.

I dunno why there are so many brainless games around.

7th stall: Darts

How to play: Aim dart at balloons. You gotta hit 3 balloons of the same colour in a session to win a prize.

Costs: 2 tokens for 5 darts.

8th stall: Milk bottle

How to play: Toss the hockey ball into the giant milk bottle. tough one! The hole is "ngam ngam" the size of the ball. Damn con or wat?!?!

9th stall: Darts again

How to play: Throw darts on the board. You gotta hit 3 of the same animal to win.

10th stall: Shooting again..*yawn*
Kinda self explanatory

Next, another brainless game (perfect for ppl like me, muahaha)!

How to play: Use the net to fish out a coloured ball, there is a sticker on the ball which tells you what sorta prize you've won.

This stall damn a lot of ppl layanz. Why? Coz they've got like a few handphones to be won. Ppl who're skilled at shooting were hanging out here. I'm not sure if any of the mobiles were won though.

13th stall: Ping pong balls

How to play: Roll the ping pong balls. Accummulate the points where the balls landed on. Example: 3 + 3 + 2 = 8.

Only 7, 8, 9 are entitled for a prize.

(i think kena rigged liao, most ppl only kena-ed on "0", damn con la!)

Costs: 2 tokens for 3 balls.

This is very similar to the ping pong game, only difference is you get to insert the ping pong balls into a hole, and play it ala "pin ball" style. Again, only 7, 8, 9 are entitled to a prize.

Another toss the hoops into the bottle stall.

How to play: Throw darts, ensure that the total no of points are 7,8,9 to win prizes.

This is by far, the cheapest game. Only 1 token to play, and they guarantee that you'll win a prize, albeit a small one la. Erm, i actually dunno how to play this game. Wasn't interested enough to find out.

If u wanna win this cute Tigger, you gotta toss the coins and make sure they land on the bowl. Another tough one!

I finally spotted a game i could play. Haha..All i did was fish out a duck and see what's the colour on its underside.

My duck's underside colour's white. And I won this! A cute lil piglet keychain. Though in actual fact, it's definitely cheaper than the RM4 i spent on tokens. i happy girl liao!

Final stall: Another dart game

Throw 3 darts and make sure they hit on 3 boxes of the same colour to win.

I wanted Mr Bean's bear.

Edwin giving a shot.

Aiseh, the last dart hit on yellow. We were so close. 2 outta 3 aint bad! But no prize la!

Though i din win any of those plush toys, it was a fun day at the park for me! :)

Deeparaya

~*~*~*Deeparaya*~*~*~

Damn glad that it's the festive season again =)
Thanks to the combination of both Deepavali and Hari Raya Aidilfitri that I'm having like a 5-day break! woohooOoo~

Was walking around Subang Parade (after gym) and chanced upon this raya bazaar. It's the perfect time to shop for Baju Kurung/Kebaya. I am actually quite fond of baju kebaya, especially the modern nyonya kebaya. It's so ever feminine and sexy.

Love these raya goodies!! So pretty looking sommore, cone-shaped, heart-shaped..who can resist? Not me!

However, it'll be another 39 years or so (i heard) till the next Deepavali and Hari Raya will coincide. Therefore, must really savour this long break.

Am just gonna chill, chill and chill at home. Though mum and dad have gone on a long cruise along East Coast. Good for them.

Here's wishing all my Hindu and Muslim frens a very Happy Deepavali and Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri. To the rest, enjoy the long hols.

Porridge steamboat

~*~*~*Porridge steamboat*~*~*~

Lemme tell you something about myself..

I absolutely lurve steamboat *drool drool*. Good friends of mine will also know that i crave porridge (not teochew style, but more the HKong style) all the time.

What better way than to combine the two? I hev no idea who came up with the idea of porridge steamboat, but watever it is...it's a Damn fantastic one!

The 1st time i tried this amazing steamboat was at this place in Sri Petaling, to celebrate dad's bday. It's so popular that the queue's always rather crazy. It was so good (the porridge was excellent - very smooth and powdery, just the way i like it!) that this is the place we always frequent whenever we wanna makan/celebrate.

I'll get the name and address off mum and put it here later.

Now, for my good pal, Chong Sern's bday, we tried out another place which offers the same thing. This steamboat restaurant is located in Subang Jaya, near my office. According to my friends, this restaurant is so popular that it's got quite a few branches already.

This place is called Farmland Steamboat Restaurant (PJ) Sdn Bhd. Location: 1, Jalan SS18/6, 47500 Subang Jaya. Tel: 03-5632 8388.

There were 4 of us. We ordered for 3, with additional side orders like gyoza, meat balls, tofu, golden mushroom and frogs' legs..yummMmm..

How to eat fried wantan..

Pick it up with your chopstick and dip into your fave sauce. I combined 4 different ingredients to make this incredible sauce : 2 different types of chilli sauce, soy sauce and sesame oil.

top pix: Chong Sern (bday boy), Ten (Bee's hubby) and Bee.

bottom pix: all ex-colleagues from TOA.

Once the porridge is steaming hot, plonk in watever you like to eat into the broth...and wait for it to simmer.

Prawns and veges always go last.

This is the best drink concoction on earth. It's called "kat chai shuin mui", which is a blended mix of limes with asam boi (plum). My must have!!

Ze birthday cake. It's a tiramisu cake...Mmmm. Though i practically couldnt force another piece of fishball into my system, i did however gobbled down 2 pieces of this yummy thing.

Happy Birthday Chong Sern!!

Hey, u wished for a camera rite? U got it dude!

CS using his mobile to take a picture of his cake. I teased him and said that he damn "sampat & kiasu" :P

May all ur wishes come true dude!

Now can u understand why i had 2 of this?
