Feeling like major crab feast~

~*~*Feeling like major crab feast*~*~
Went out with the gals (Cindy, Carmen and Mon) and a guy (Cindy's hubby, BK) for crab last nite..

We reached there at about 8:20pm and the queue was CRAZY...We're talking about Restoran Tak Fok in Aman Puri. Dunno the exact address though.

Right next to Tak Fok, is Restoran Mei Chixuan (it's almost twice as big as Tak Fok). There is hardly a crowd nor a queue here. However, they do have some customers, from the spill-over from Tak Fok.

One thing i like about Tak Fok is that even though it's always packed to the brim with customers, they are always quite fast in serving us our food. The first crab dish came at about 9pm.

At 9pm, the queue was still as long as ever. it just never stops..

This is my fave dish.. Crab with ham-dan (salted egg)..It's da bomb people! This is a must-have here!

Next, we had cheesy crab..

These fried man-tous (chinese flour bun) are fantastic with the cream cheese sauce from the crab.

Just dip and dip and dip away!! The crunchy man-tous are too damn good!

This is another kickass dish: Kung po style 'lai liu har' (bugs).

Steamed mussels with sweet sour assam sauce. Very appetising!

Another Tak Fok specialty: their house Foo Chow tou-fu.

It's damn smooth...Fried on the outside, soft and smooth inside..Topped with minced meat and spring onions! Heavenly!

The 5 of us whacked everything on the table...Haha, feeling a tinge of guilt here as i havent been goin to the gym at all! :P

After dinner, we adjourned to Cindy's house. We were all eager to check out her new love nest.

Also, we were itching for a night of non-stop mahjong! kekeke

The gals gave me these for Christmas...

Received this comfy La Senza lingerie set from Cindy.

Mon gave me this baby blue Nike bottle for gym.

Men gave me a Lilian Too book for those borned in the year of the horse (now you know how old i am!). And a cute pair of earrings!

i think this pair of earring is pretty cute: a diamante stilletto and a Anna Sui inspired handbag. Kawai-ness!

Love you gals!

XOXO

Feeling like new resolutions

~*~*Feeling like new resolutions*~*~
Okay. Don't panic.

There's still time to think of what kinda new year's resolutions to make. and keep...

Yes, this year i wanna make resolutions i can achieve and not abandon half-way through.

L-R: Cindy, May, Mon, Men, Moi

Went for drinks with my gal frens at the Curve the other night and each of us had to come up with 5 new year's resolutions. And resolutions 3, 4, and 5 will be the same across the board.

Resolution no 3: do something interesting
Resolution no 4: must go on at least 1 girlie trip a year (trip must be >3 days to count)
Resolution no 5: must remember and always make an effort to celebrate girl friends' birthday..

Resolution no 1 and 2 we had to propose our own and make sure the rest of the girls agree that it is a worthy one..

I wont reveal my gal frens' resolution..i'll just tell u mine..

I told them that i'll cut down on shopping. Carmen just smirked and commented "Ven, we're not asking for a miracle. Try again!". ugggh..

So i told the gals i'll try to consistently save 30% of my salary. That got a nod from them.

=)

I couldn't think of the next resolution as we were busy catching up with May who's back for the hols.

Now i know what my second resolution is...

To spend more time with my loved ones and show them how much i truly love and appreciate them.

Corny but true.. :P

Resolution no 1 may be difficult to keep. But resolution no 2 i'm gamed on keeping.

So, what's your new year resolutions?

Best wishes for the coming new year! Have a happy and fantabulous one!

Feeling panicky

~*~*~*Feeling panicky*~*~*~

i just realised that Jan 2007 is 3 days away. OMG!

and i was thinking that Jan 2007 is still months away. Gosh.. What was i thinking? I feel like the year has ended too soon and i had done absolutely nothing....nothing! i hate feeling like this..

am feeling like a drug addict who has gone cold turkey. this is just too abrupt for me and really, i cant take this!!

i'm nearing jan now and i just feel like it's still april or something... things just whirled by too fast without me noticing and now...IT'S ALL GONE!

please give me back all the sweet nothings that you've showered me with, i'll take it..i'll take it now..i really will..

i wanna just slow down and take time to smell the flowers...i wanna spend time with my loved ones.. i wanna show them that i care and that i love them... i wanna go back to the time when things are just so simple... i wanna be able to just say what i really feel without being diplomatic...i wanna tell some friends just how annoying they are and that they should stop judging others when they themselves are like shit, but i dun have the heart to...i wanna show my appreciation to people i love while they are still here...i want what i missed out...i wish i could turn back time and do some things differently...i want what i want and i want it now...

dad was sharing with us over dinner how my grandma (poh poh, my mum's mum) used to be a super-strong-mega woman. She used to cycle to and fro the rubber estate to deliver freshly tapped liquid from the rubber trees. Not only that, she actually ran from tree to free while tapping so she could collect as much as possible and deliver them to the manufacturer on the said time. She was a super-duper-multi-task-able woman. In addition to that, she had to rush to the pig farm to feed those piggies, rush off to the market to buy food and veges for breakfast, lunch and dinner for the family..and also feed/bathe/take care of 6 monster kids at home. She's a strong woman.

now, grandma's legs are certainly not as strong. It disheartens me to know that she's been pretty frail lately. I have to hold and support her whenever she walks as she has very weak knees. This is due to an injury from an accident which she suffered from more than 15 years back.

my new year resolution is to spend more time with my grandparents. I havent been goin to their place as much as i wanted to... I wanna shower them with the same loving-kindness they have given me since the day i was borned. Grandma really dotes on me..Grandpa loves to spoil me with sweet lollies, he still does...

i love you Poh poh and Gong gong.

XOXO

Feeling creative

~*~*Feeling creative*~*~

Friends would know that when i'm stress i either bake, cook or make things.

I've made 2 belts for myself so far and am pretty proud of the results.

Belt no 1 took less than 10 mins to complete, so that wasn't so much of an accomplishment for me. Especially since i needed more 'me time'. Tak cukup shiok!

Took a longer time sewing and re-sewing belt no 2 as i wasn't happy with the results. Initially, i was using a different type of hooks to clasp this belt together, it was nice but very loose and keep unclasping itself. Got me pissed. So i took out everything and sew on this big fat gold buckle instead. Quite please with it.. =) Shiok-ness!

Also did some spring cleaning over the weekend. Cleared out some accessories and tried to fix up a board for me to hang or pin up some of my earrings, chains and bracelets.. Probably need to buy another one from ikea as i'm running outta space here and i still have heaps of accessories store in various jewellery boxes..

Need to get organise....

Do u know of a better idea for me to store/display my accessories? Please lemme know ya!

Feeling Christmas-y

~*~*Feeling Christmas-y*~*~

Merry Christmas people!!

So how is your Christmas so far?

As for me, i haven't been feeling the Christmas-y mood until yesterday. Yups, it's dat bad! Work has gulped down a big part of my emo, until i didnt recognise which day is which..wat more Christmas.

Confession: i haven't even done my Christmas shopping at all! Sorry darlings.. Just that i get so tired after work..and the queues to One Utama and Mid Valley are just horrendous..it's a nightmare getting into the carpark and another nightmare looking for a parking..I'm
just not gamed enough to do that sort of thing...

Finally got a taste of Christmas whilst worshipping in church on Christmas Eve. Haven't been attending church for some time as i've been working every Sunday since dunno when. It was refreshing =)

Speaking of parkings..I went to Mid Valley and you just wont believe it! You know how we Msians started the double-parking thingy at One Utama (basically a car will park out of the box, besides two cars)...now we have triple parking at Mid Valley.

See pix here..

Now, the grey car is parking on a non-existent box in between 2 cars (which is the norm in One Utama). Now, we have another car parking beside the grey car. Let's call this blue wira a stupid car cos it's got a stupid driver.

Move on to the next pix and you'll know why i call that stupid driver a stupid inconsiderate parker..

Now, since stupid car is parked this way. Both Car A and Car B on the right will have difficulty reversing out, especially Car B. Now if you were the driver of Car B..how would you feel? Utterly pek-chek i guess. Feel like scratching stupid car or not?

Another desperate driver....this only happens in Msia ya!

Okie i'm kinda sick of all these dumbass drivers liao. Sorry for digressing, now where were we?

Ahh..Christmas...

My sis, Caryn works as a display artist with The Curve. She's been working very hard with her team to come up with this year's Christmas display. And we are very proud of her.

She's even got a Christmas tree named after her. Lemme show you the 'Caryn tree'.

Caryn with her tree..She set up the whole tree as a sample for the rest to follow suit, hence the name.

Dad n mum posing by the tree..

Dun ask me why i'm pointing to the baubles..go figure.

It's always very interesting goin to Malls to check out their Christmas display.

One Utama is having a Mickey Christmas this year..

Mid Valley is having a lolly-themed Christmas..MmmMm.. Yummilicious

Just look at all these giant bread houses, lollies and cakes... Was very tempted to take a bite! hehe

There was a huge commotion and extremely looOooooOooong queue just to sit on Santa's lap and take a picture with him. Poor kids..poor parents... Poor poor Santa!!

it's raining lollies!!

Merry Christmas to you! May yours be a white and wonderful one.

Christmas gathering at the Sabapathy's

Christmas gathering @ the Sabapathy's
Sarah, as usual hosted this year's Christmas gathering for us JM alumnis...

L-R: Jo, Rah, me, Sim, Kai.

We each brought something that we made to make this night extra special. I baked cheesecake, Sarah did a fabulous roast lamb (her dad's recipe), Joann brought angel hair pasta with her special bolognese sauce.

As Kai just got back from her honeymoon in Mauritius, she didnt make anything but brought us wine instead.. =).

Simone had to work that day (it was only Public Holiday for us Selangor folks), so she didnt get to make anything. Otherwise, I would have requested for her to make her bake carbonara pasta. It's yummilicious.

Thanks for a jolly good time gals. We should do this more often.

Fondue madness ~ Bee's birthday

~*~*~*Fondue madness - Bee's bday*~*~*~

Dear Bee, sorry babes, i know this is like almost a month backdated. :p So here you go deahrie, enjoy the pix.

For those of you who's interested to know where we went to celebrate Bee's birthday...

We checked out Fondue House at Desa Seri Hartamas. It's at the same block as T & T kickbocking.
For tasty steamy cheese, please visit: Fondue House. No 5, Plaza Prisma Ville, Jalan 26A/70A, Desa Sri Hartamas, 50480 KL. Tel: 03-6203 3346.

Ambience wise? So-so. It's definitely not a fine dining place lor. Check out the pix below.

While waiting for our fondue to arrive, i was tempted to take, i mean buy one of these things and go make my own choc fondue...

We decided on the original cheese flavour with white wine. The cheese was damn 'gao' (thick)..Mmmm.. This is a set for three at RM59.95. I was a lil disappointed though cos the fried chicken pieces and prawns were way too oily for my liking. Plus the cheese sommore, it was just 'jelak' to the max!!

Thankfully, i had my tea to help wash everything down...

It was close to 9pm when we started eating. We were famished actually. So, jelak or not...we still managed to wolf down the entire set..Well, almost.

Ten & Bee. Fyi guys, this woman is taken okie? She's happily married to him. Too bad!

CS with Bee... actually, we forced the guys to finish those oily stuffs..It's good to have guys around some times..

See? Finger lickin clean...

I thought it'd be nice to have choc fondue as opposed to a cake for dessert. And this I have to give them a thumbs up cos the choc was way better than the cheese. This set below is about RM30.

We got this set for free somehow...whoopee! We were thrilled to have 2 pots of choc fondues..

Seeing how pretty the whole thing was laid out kinda lit up our jelak-fied faces.

I am so coming back to have these for desserts again....

This set comes with: marshmallows, wafers, love letters, butter cakes, ice creams, apples, grapes...

....multi flavoured ice creams.. It goes very well with the choc and ground peanuts..

My fave..STRAWBERRIES! I wish there was more of this though...BTW, the choc really complements the strawberries..

The next time i come here, i'm just gonna have the choc fondue with at least 2 plateful of huge, fat, juicy strawberries. =)

Lemme know if u wanna join moi. cheers!
