The office was abuzz with speculations yesterday when news that our PM (fondly known as Pak Lah) will be getting hitched to Jeanne Abdullah this weekend was out.

Some were shocked, as they weren't expecting our PM who always looked the role of a doting and loving husband to the late Endon could be getting wed so soon.

Moreover, he's marrying Endon's brother's ex-wife.

The ladies were in a heated discussion while having breakfast in the pantry this morning. Most could not accept this fact. When asked, they said they'd prefer and would be more receptive if he'd marry someone else, someone who is not running his household and not related in any way.

Perhaps it's the female territorial instinct screaming, "don't eat and shit in the same house!".

On the other hand, we have some who merely shrugged and said, "Love is a feeling, and maybe she was there for him when he lost Endon. And perhaps their feelings for each oher just grew..".

True, when it comes to love, who are we to judge?

All these talks have just roused my gossip juices further.

John Mayer has dumped Jessica Simpson yet again, and this time, People reports - it's truly the end.

A girl friend forwarded this to me. And gosh, i find it somewhat very true. LOL!

Ladies, i'm sure you'll have a good laugh cos you can so relate to this.

Gentlemen, it may be a good idea for you guys to learn up these 9 simple words and their 'actual' meanings.

~*9 Words Women Use*~

(1) Fine

This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

(2) Five Minutes

If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.

(3) Nothing

This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with 'nothing' usually end in 'fine'.

(4) Go Ahead

This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!

(5) Loud Sigh

This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.)

(6) That's Okay

This is one of the most dangerous statements a woman can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

(7) Thanks

A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just say you're welcome.

(8) Whatever

It's a woman's way of saying F@#k you!

(9) Don't worry about it, I've got it

Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking "What's wrong?" For the woman's response refer to #3.

Lunch with the girls

After a night of clubbing, a hearty lunch filled with the latest gossips with my girlfriends sounds like a great idea.

Though i slept at around 5:30am (with a pounding headache mind you), i awoke at 9:30am without any hangover whatsoever. That, i was pleasantly surprised. =)

Nonetheless, i headed to the kitchen to make my favourite hangover remedy. I cooked instant tomyam noodles. Juices (orange + apple + celery), hamburgers or instant noodles normally do the trick for me.

Somehow, my tastebuds seemed to have gone off a little, the noodles just didn't taste as good.

Thought of going to bed to have a power nap before i go off to meet the girls. But i ended reading a book instead. I thought, "Geez Carrie, you're so gonna look like a zombie later". die die die.

We had lunch at Albert's, it's a cosy Italian cafe in a shoplot near Plaza Damas. The shop is partitioned into one part florist and one part cafe. The girlfriend owns the florist and she helps wait at the cafe too. Aww, isn't this sweet?

Me and my galfrens, the JM Alumnis. Yes, we all used to work at JM. Sarah will soon be a JM Alumni as well. =)

It was pretty difficult trying to plan and get everyone out as we were all so busy. Somehow this last minute plan worked out really well as we all could make it.

We gathered to celebrate the fact that Jo has accepted her offer to continue her postgrad studies at Nanyang Technology University in S'pore. Jo and her hubby will be leaving in July. =( We're so gonna miss you.

We were all pretty excited to know that Sarah's pregnant. You go girl!

Kai's the party animal in the group. Don't underestimate her when it comes to drinking. She can really really drink. Hats off to you girl!

Rah recommended this place as she and her hubby, Simon are regulars here at Albert's. According to her, the food's good and prices are reasonably fair.

We all (except Jo and Rah) ordered a set lunch menu (Rm13.90) which consists of: soup of the day [pumpkin and orange soup], grilled chicken fillet, or panfried dory fillet with white sauce, and lime juice]

I ordered the chicken fillet too. But they stuffed up my order. First they gave me the chicken fillet, then they took it away saying it's for another table. Then they gave me another grilled chicken but took it away cos they said it's the wrong order as mine's a roasted chicken.

I was too blur to notice anyway. It was the alcohol i guess. :P

This was what i got instead: roasted chicken with tomato and basil sauce.

Jo was undecided as usual :P. In the absence of Steven, Rah had to order for her. Tomato and cheese toasted panini bread.

Went to Plaza Damas to check out the blood donation drive that Simon was organising. I wasn't in the right state of mind to donate blood i reckon. What more when my blood has high concentration of alcohol. :P

There was a Japanese food fair going on.

I was so happy to see that they're selling Calpis Smoothies (RM3.90 a cup). I absolutely positively loooooooVvveee Calpis Soda. Used to drink it almost everyday back when i was in Sydney.

Thailand has Calpis soda too, but it is marketed under the name Calpico instead.

You can actually buy these calpis concentrate and mix it with water and ice. Blend all ingredients together to make a smoothie. yum yum..

I bought a little bottle of Choya Umeshu too. It's actually Japanese Plum Wine. I was actually quite surprised as i swallowed my first gulp cos it burnt my throat. The after-taste was sweet with a hint of sournote. It was actually quite yummy, in an unfamiliar kinda way.

The lady who sold me the Choya told me that lots of Japanese women love this drink. However, they will only drink this at home and not out of the house cos it's very easy to get drunk without realising. It's so yummy that you just keep going and next thing you know, you're drunk. Btw, the alcohol content is 15%.

i went home with a dress (Courtyard), my calpis smoothie and a bottle of choya umeshu. =)

You know how you've got different friends who do different things with you?

Like friends for shopping aka shopping kaki, friends who motivate and work out with you, friends to share your darkest secrets/worries/happiness with, friends to chill out and have a cuppa with, friends you go on vacation with, and friends whom you party and club with.

Well, i haven't been hanging out with my clubbing kakis for a long while already. And it was a pleasant surprise when Simone called me on thursday and asked me if i was free to go Cynna the following day. My answer? A big fat yes la. *hands and feet also itching to club*

We were all supposed to park our cars at Simon's place as we're all gonna hail a cab to Cynna. Cos we heard there's gonna be roadblock virtually everywhere last night and we were all gamed to drink.

It was funny how the cabbie agreed to fetch the five of us (Simon, Shen Wei, Simone, Shawnie and me) to Cynna for an additional fee of RM6.

And you know what? The five of us managed to squeeze into the cab and we were surprised that it was actually quite a comfortable ride.

It's either we're all too skinny, or somehow our red and white proton saga has miraculously expanded and became extremely spacious.

We bought a bottle of JD Black Label (RM398) to share among the 5 of us.

It didn't take us long to drain the bottle. In fact, Steven dared me to finish the remaining 1/6 of the bottle (about 2 inches left) in less than 40 mins (before 1:30am). I told him that i can't be finishing the whole bottle (cos if i did, it'll not be fair to the rest), and if i could finish, he's gotta get another bottle for everyone.

And so, within the next 20 mins....the bottle was emptied. WooHoo...

Cynna is well known as the place for people watching. And aren't i glad that there are actually more good looking guys than girls here.

We all left and had supper at the nearby mamak. It was time to sober up.

Simone was a goner last night. She kept mumbling the same line over and over again. Her most frequently used line was (while eating her nasi lemak): "Dude, i need rice to absorb the alcohol" (she said it at least 10 times). Had to ask her to shut up. Sorry Sim :p

Steven's most used line that night: "It has NOT been easy liking you..."

Finally reached Simon's house at 5am. Got home, changed and hopped into bed at 5:30am. I have no idea why i couldn't sleep longer. I set my alarm for 10:30am but i was actually wide awake at 9:30am.

Sarah told me that this is because our bodies are so used to waking up early for work. We're waking up earlier and earlier, just like our parents! So true.

Went to meet the girls at Albert's near Plaza Damas for lunch at 12:30pm. (Pix will be uploaded in the next post).

New donut joint in town

Good news to all Krispy Kreme lovers in Malaysia. We now have... Krispy Kreme something almost as good as Krispy Kreme in town.

I'm serious. It's almost, if not equally as good as Krispy Kreme. WooOoHOoo =)

This place is called Big Apple Donuts & Coffee. You so gotta try it. trust me!

Newly opened for only a week, it has garnered quite a long string of loyal fans already.

So, if you feel like donuts or simply something sweet, check out Big Apple @ The Curve (besides Eden restaurant).

The original glaze donuts are really yummy, and this is as Krispy Kreme as you can get. Which means, it's soft, fluffy and has a melt-in-your mouth texture compared to the normal doughnuts you get.

Good news is that it's only RM2 a piece. In Australia, you pay AUD2.50 for one, and when I was in London i had to pay 99p for the same thing (ouch!).

They're having a promotion now in conjunction with their inaugural opening. Buy 1 dozen, get half a dozen for FREE. Also, 1 dozen only costs RM17.60.

And if you're there, go chill, have a cuppa and you'll get a donut free too.

I'm so gonna go there this weekend.

Daddy's birthday

It's my daddy's birthday today. =)

However, only mum, Claudine and i were home to wish him last night. Caryn is now holiday-ing in Hong Kong (bless that girl!! i'm so envious) and bro is doing a business presentation in Singapore at the moment.

It was so weird, just the four of us. Cos we're used to having lotsa ppl around to sing the birthday song and greet the birthday boy/girl with lotsa silly wishes. :P
