Dinner at Dragon-i

It's been months since we had a proper family dinner outside. Yups, brother's been busy jet setting and somehow we just couldn't find the right time to celebrate.

Last night's dinner was pretty much impromptu. We only planned the night before, and everyone managed to make it. I like it better this way, it's much better than planning weeks ahead but somehow the dinner just never "jadi".

My dad and mum have always been very traditionally Chinese when it comes to food. Mum doesn't really like sashimi and stuff so Japanese was out of the question.

Out of the blue, one of us suggested "Xiao long bao" and that sounded super agreeable to us. So we headed to Dragon-i at One Utama.

We had baskets after baskets of juicy, succulent xiao long baos. Yumm..

I wanted the whole basket of xiao long baos to myself. muahaha!

The one thing that we regret ordering - Braised pork (served with mantou). The pork is covered in fats. Yucks. The fats to meat ratio was like 9.5 : 0.5.

I find the braised pork (Tong Po Yoke) in Esquire Kitchen much tastier.

Their stewed pork ramen was satisfying though.

I think I've blogged about their Sweet Glazed Duck Breasts before. Yups, you have to order it, the number is 63. Remember, it's 63. RM20 for 4 slices of duck breast, well worth every bite.

I like this dish. It's egg white with scallop. Very fragrant.

This eggplant dish goes very well with rice.

Actually they were contemplating whether or not to order desserts.

Bro and I decided to go ahead and we ordered these:

Mango sago with glutinous rice balls.

Mango with pomelo and sago.

Yam rolls

We've made a vow to at least go out once a month for dinner together.
Dad's determined to ensure that we do dinners as well as lunches.

We'll see how it goes. :)
