First wedding of the year

~*~*First wedding of the year*~*~
Attended Sook Phein and Hien Lin's wedding reception on the 1st week of 2007.

It was definitely the first wedding of the year for me.

Phein was my classmate in high school but we only got to know each other much much better and became close buddies during our years in Monash (Clayton) where we lived in the halls of residence. Phein, U Li, Ai Fong, and i were cooking buddies. Phein will cook with U Li whilst Ai Fong and i will do the washing and vice versa.

Now that i recall back...Gosh, i miss our curries and bak kut teh man during winter la! =)

Okieokie...back to the wedding.
It was held in KL Hilton, one of my fave hotels. You can always to bump into "atas" ppl here. What with Zeta Bar around...Yes, i love ppl watching. Who doesnt?

i like their wedding favour and the box it comes with...

love the white choc very much. the filling inside tasted like mango.

took this picture near the entrance of zeta bar. this is about as close as i can get to taking a picture with the twin towers as the background.

made this gown using thai silk when i was in bangkok with the gals last year.

With galfrens from high school, Sri Aman.

Standing L-R: San, Me, Kue Peng
Seated L-R: Phaik May, Ju Ann

The gals have been assigned to man the registration table for the bride. Therefore, we were cam-whoring around the area until most of the guests arrived.

Me and my best friend, Sook San.

San's currently studying her PhD in Biomedical Science at Melbourne Uni. Miss her a great deal as i only get to see her once a year. She's got 3 more years till the completion of her course. San, i miss having someone to talk to. Thanks for being my best friend for so many years...XOXO

My galfrens with beauty and brains.

Ju Ann's now a doctor, San's obtained the pretigious Prime Minister Award to pursue her PhD with UniMelb, and Kuep (always the first in our class, 5ST1) is now pursuing her Masters in US. Am very proud of you gals.

Accessories on the registration table

a bowl of gold fish and lotsa rose petals..

this is the box where we collect all the angpow packets

more roses... =)

couldnt resist ~ wanted to take this flower ball home. :P

Here comes the bride.

Congratulations to you, Sook Phein and Hien Lin!
Woman you look absolutely stunning!

The groom did something amazing that night. We were told that he'll be donating all the proceeds of his angpows that night to charity. Thank you Hien Lin, that's very noble of you.

got this bouquet from one of the bridemaids, Hung Yen.

What a small world!I didnt expect to meet my ex-colleague, Kar Yee here.

She spotted me cos i went up to the stage to give a stalk of flower to the singer (Sharizat, also the emcee for the night). Kar Yee is actually the sister-in-law to Vincent (Sook Phein's bro).

And...I actually attended Vincent's wedding few years back. Funny how some ppl are connected that way...

Was seated with frens from Monash. We were all from Richardson Halls.

Standing L-R: Wai Ho, Leona's bf.
Seated L-R: Wai Ho's wife, Leona, me, Ai Fong

Friends since primary school: Aifie, Mei Ching, me.

Mei Ching is actually the wedding co-ordinator for Phein. She's currently working as a conference producer. She's recently gotten married last year and since then, she's discovered her passion in wedding preparation and planning.

This event is a first for her and i'm sure they'll be many more in the near future. Feel free to check out her blog if you wish to suss out more information as to what to do/not to do/how to prepare for your wedding.

What's a wedding without the occasional "yum seng"?

Dear Phein and hubby, I wish the both of you a life filled with happiness and contentment.
May your love for each other be renewed everyday. Cherish and love each other as when you first fell in love.

cheers!
Ven
