Quest for the best Pan Mee

~*~*~*Quest for the best Pan Mee*~*~*~
i absolutely lurve pan mee.

in fact, i can eat pan mee every single day. yup, it can be sickeningly boring. but i lurve it!

my colleague Sandy told me that there's this really cool pan mee place in Kota Kemuning.

i didnt expect this pan mee place to have such tasteful deco.

i was actually expecting some old skool kopi tiam you know.

Restoran Mee Papan
(literal translation for Pan Mee) serves lotsa different variety of pan mee.

There's the traditional pan mee (soup or dry), special fried pan mee, hokkien fried pan mee, curry laksa pan mee, smooth egg pan mee (wat dan).

Prices are pretty reasonable too.

Was told to try their special herbal drink, Ginseng Kam Chou. It's basically ginseng with some leaves.

Took a sip and my almost sleepy-eyes immediately sprung open. *shudder*

It was a shock to my tastebuds. Kinda bitter sweet tangy taste. But it's good to reduce heatiness. So must drink lor.

Their killer Ginseng Kam Chou. or maybe it's just me. i dun take chinese herbs very well. Drink it if you wanna promote alertness. It works!

Stacey enjoying her Ginseng Kam Chou. :p

Heard from Sandy that this place is usually very packed. We were there pretty early last night, and the pan mee was served within the first 10 mins. Pretty fast i have to say.

Though they serve so many different types of pan mee, the only way i can compare if their pan mee is good is by ordering the one i love most. the one i try the most. the one i'm most particular about.

So i ordered the traditional soupy one.

My verdict: it's pretty good. the broth is pretty clear, light and sweet. it's better than a lot i've tasted.

But i still prefer the Aunty pan mee near my office. Aunty's broth is much sweeter and tastier. i prefer aunty's sambal belacan too. The sambal belacan here is really very spicy. This is why Sandy loves it here.

Sandy ordered the dry pan mee. Gotta give it to them. They are really generous with the ingredients. Garnished with lotsa fried ikan bilis (anchovies).

Tried their friend chee cheong fun. This was fantastic. It beats eating fried kueh teow. It's so much tastier. mMmMm.. This is my fave dish so far.

Sandy's cute and adorable daughter, Sonia.

When asked "how's the food here Sonia? u like?"

She gave us this.. Thumbs up.

Yes, i know i know.

i'm very sure there are other better pan mee stalls out there.

Chen and Greg, you guys still havent brought me to the Bangsar pan mee place yet. :p Though i heard from others that this pan mee place that you guys recommended is pretty good.

Another colleague, Daniel said that there's also this one in Pandan Indah - damn good wor.

Someone also told me that there's this pan mee in some dodgy area in Cheras very yummy.

Hmmm..

Will try my best to try these out. Perhaps i might still find aunty's pan mee the best. Who knows?
