Happy Birthday to Ah Boy!

It's Chong Sern's birthday today. :)

I wish you a very happy birthday, boy! One year older already la boy, must be more kwai ok? :P

By now, you would have reached Jakarta already. Hmm..I wonder who you're meeting up there? So secretive sommore..ehehe

We celebrated CS' bday last Friday night at Woh Peng (some big shot recommended this place, saying the food is good and value for money).

We arrived at Woh Peng around dusk. We expected a scenic and serene looking sight.

But we were hugely surprised by how dodgy and under-developed the road was leading to this restaurant.

In fact, the path leading to Woh Peng looked abandoned and deserted... I was lucky I wasn't the one driving, if I was, I would have turned around and not continue driving towards the place. Yes, it was that dodgy.

At one point, CS and i both felt as if we could fly off the cliff if we weren't careful enough. CS was probably driving at 20kmh. ehehe

Anyway, that's me prior to re-perming my hair.

Old skool style of tea drinking, which I appreciate very much. We drink tea ala traditional style like this at home too.

Our 1st dish - Vinegared pork knuckle.

This dish was served dry, with very little soup. I still prefer the one that my pohpoh used to make. Oh, how i miss her cooking. Nothing beats hers.

2nd dish - Spinach soup.

Very tasty. I love the salted egg yolk and century egg in the soup.

3rd dish - Black peppered pork chop grilled to perfection.

This is their signature dish. And seriously, the pork was fantastic! The skin was crispy with bits melting in the mouth with each bite.

4th dish - Butter prawn in lime/kaffir.

Another signature dish. We've all tried butter prawn, but this dish is totally different. For one, it has gravy and it not dry. For another, its gravy is refreshingly MmMmMMm...

Ten is someone who dislikes eating prawns. Look! He whacked damn a lot of prawns that night.

Last dish: Tofu thick soup ala Shark's fin style.

This is my usual fave. However, i didn't quite like the one here.
