Emergency fundraising

Saw this cute ad (it's got a cute kitty :) on my nuffnang icon (on the sidebar) and I clicked on it. It says "Friends for life. Take me home".

It's an ad for the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) Selangor.

If you're an animal lover, please check out SPCA's website. Well, even if you're not an animal lover, it's worth checking out too. You'll never know how much your contribution/support might come in handy towards creating a better society/environment for pets to live in..which directly/indirectly affects us too.

There's so much to know and learn from that site.

For instance, you can do your part and adopt a pet instead of buying one from the local pet shop. There are listing of pets available for adoption for you to choose online now, so easy, all within the click of a mouse. Ahh, what would we do without technology?

There's also a Malaysian Vet Forum for all pets/vet enthusiasts out there to discuss on issues or whatever tickles your fancy within the area of vet science.

Oh, did you know that Bangsar Shopping Centre is housing an Adoption Fest every fortnightly? Next one up is on the 11th and 12th August. If you want a pet, now's the time to check it out. =)

I saw this red flashing icon which captured my attention. I felt something tugging at my heart soon after. And I feel compelled to blog about it now.

There is an Emergency fundraising for neglected horses in Sabah.

What it says (I know you guys are not gonna click on the picture :p so I'm gonna spell it out word for word here):

"The Selangor SPCA is in urgent need of funds to deal with an emergency situation concerning the welfare of horses at a ranch in Sabah. Since 21st June 2007, 4 horses have collapsed and 10 horses at the premises are in near starvation and in a severe state of dehydration. Tourists have also reported a rotting horse carcass on a beach near the premise. Food, medical supplies, and vet services are urgently required."

Isn't this just so so so sad? I once had a horse too, Leaf left us about 10 years back =(

Now, all I'm asking is for you to please please please do your part - whatever you can. It can be in the form of food items, monetary or even in terms of medical services (only if you're a vet la!).

If you'd like to help these horses, please send a cheque to: SPCA Selangor at Jalan Kerja Air Lama, 68000 Ampang, Selangor. Cheque to be made payable to "Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals".

Note: Please include "SPCA Selangor Equine Welfare Fund" at the back of the cheque.

Totemo arigato gozaimasu! Oyasumi nasai. :)
