Breathtaking Bangkok - Part 3

~*~*~*Breathtaking Bangkok - Part 3*~*~*~

Sunday, 25th March 07

See that building in the background? That's CentralWorld. It's the newest in Bangkok and also the largest shopping complex in South East Asia. It houses pretty impressive brands too.

We were on our way to BTS as we wanted to take the BTS to National Stadium, where MBK is located.

We were approached by this tuktuk driver, offering to take us to MBK for 10 baht...but with a condition that we stopped at this place to view jewelleries and Thai silk. We help him, he help us la. He gets subsidise for gasoline you see.

I've actually visited such places before from my previous trip...but since this is the first time for them, we agreed. We save about 50 baht in total. BTS to MBK would have cost us 15 baht each.

However, if you are in a hurry, never ever agree to such deals...it takes up at least 30 mins of your time.

Then the tuktuk driver asked us if we wanna split and have 2 tuktuks..for the same price. Why not? We didn't wanna cramp into one.

Up close n personal...this bus was right behind our tuktuk.

Our terror tuktuk driver was squeezing past the cars like nobody's business. It was a ride from hell...Got dust and smoke all over our faces, hair flying everywhere sommore...ewww

tuktuk traffic jam

Finally arrived at Manhattan. We were shown diamonds and gold but we didnt buy any la. There was a tailor service at the top floor, but none of us were interested. We were there to show face show face only.

The tuktuk stopped us outside MBK. We bought these coconuts for 10 baht each. Super cheap!

Wish i was this big

We returned to MBK..again..There are more than 2000 shops here, we didn't cover much the day before.

E.G.V cinema. Much bigger than our TGV hor

An adaptation of the traditional costume into a wedding gown.

Gowns for less than 4000 baht.

George told us that his likes to take his family to the 6th floor food court at MBK becos of its vast variety of food.

Dun you reckon that this is damn value for money? 69 baht only! Geez!

Nah..not interested. The one we went last nite was fantastic!

Cheap sushis to take away.

At the food court...

Stewed pork knuckles! MmMm..

We ordered our tomyum noodles here. Just place your order (point la) and tell her what you wanna put into the soup.

Here comes my fave part..DESSERTS!

i ordered my fave tap tim krob here..for only 20 baht!

Tap tim krob. The pink stuff is made out of tapioca flour and chestnut pieces. Very yummilicious.

Here at MBK food court, you need to buy coupons and pay using these coupons. Unused coupons can be exchanged for cash.

There's a cinema at the top floor of MBK. Pretty huge one too.

This is the latest thai movie.

Come tea time...

Even their Dunkin' Donuts is more happenin than ours..tsktsk

Caryn and Ken went to Swensen's as they wanted to try their ice cream fondue. Claudine and i continued our quest to shop for shoes...and bags.

WHAT?!! Only 139 baht. You're kidding me arent you?

After MBK, we went to Central @ Chidlom to shop for lingerie.

Sis wanted to get this juicy bag.

Latest juicy arrival

Apparently there's a Toys Fair going on..

There was a band playing at the foyer of CentralWorld. The city of Bangkok is very lively during weekends!

We actually planned to go Sirocco for drinks, but due to the fact that most of us wanted to continue shopping...we gave it a skip. Oh well, i'll do that next trip.
