Breathtaking Bangkok - Part 4

~*~*Breathtaking Bangkok - Part 4*~*~

Monday, 26th March 07

It's finally the last day of our Bang-cock Bangkok adventure. Gosh, it was a bittersweet moment. We wanted to leave cos we were tired n outta cash, at the same time something was tugging at our hearts, making it heavy to leave this place.

It's a weekday and the morning was pretty quiet. Most of the roadside vendors have not set up their stalls yet. What a big difference compared to the previous days..

We wanted to check out Pratunam market, which is about 10 mins walk from where we stayed. It was a difficult task doing that as we i nearly got killed trying to cross the 5-lane road. It was just crazy, there was no overhead bridge and everyone was crossing the road that way. Gosh, i nearly had a heart attack, thank God for Claudine. :P

On the way to Pratunam market..

We were wondering why so many ppl were wearing yellow polo-tees. Everywhere we turned, we saw someone wearing a yellow tee. Issit their national tee for work or wat? Do you know why? I found out later...

Scroll down to find out why.

There was nothing much to see at Pratunam market. So we headed back to Big C as we wanted to buy lotsa instant tomyum noodles home.

We bought 4 boxes of noodles (1 for Kenny, 3 for us). Bought 2 boxes pork minced noodles (MAMA brand) and 1 box of tomyum noodles (MAMA). We practically wanted to buy anything with "pork" back! hehe. It was like "oh pork..grab! oh pork..buy!"

Bought sommore tomyum noodles (TomYum goong brand) and various instant porridges (flavours: pork, seafood and tomyum).

Difference between MAMA's tomyum and TomYum goong's (TYG) tomyum:

MAMA's : clear broth
TYGs : rich, thick and creamy

Both are da bomb!

We wished we came here earlier! Damn beers are damn cheap here. You're talking about 23 - 45 baht a bottle! WTF!

Super large Heineken!

Heineken for RM5.9 anyone?

haha..and so, we bought some bacardi breezers and smirnoff back. Wish we could carry more though!

Back to Suvarnabumi airport...

See those boxes and the ugly green plastic bag? Those are our instant noodles. Yes, we're quite crazy!

Right before we took off!

We were hoping to go to Mckers one last time before we leave the place. Unfortunately, there isnt any Mckers in the airport. There's only BK. =( So weird, when we asked around, everyone told us there's a Mckers. Turned out, there's only 1 fast food restaurant and they mistook BK as Mckers. Geez

Home at last....

The four monsters at home really missed us. They were jumping all over me in excitement when i reached home. Their hair was in bad shape (messy n out of place) and needed a good, long, thorough grooming session. Me die!

Cocoa was so cute, after trying on the doggie tee which i bought for her from Gaysorn market, she jumped straight into Caryn's trolley bag.

This is my new bed mummy!

Boo!

I still prefer the floor :P

~*~*~* Interesting finds in Bangkok *~*~*~

1) wearing yellow colour polo t-shirts on Mondays – to mark and honour the King’s bday. He was borned on a Monday. He’s been sitting on the throne for 60 years. The longest serving King in the world. He was crowned since he was 20 years old. Thais love their king. You'll see pictures of the king everywhere. Thais have a high reverance for their king.

2) you can never be lonely.
If you are, just spend 500 baht and you can bring a local girl out to do ANYTHING you wanna do…she could be your shopping companion, fucking companion, chit chat partner etc…anything you want at all..The kwailos were seen doing this most. Damn, i'm sorry i didnt take any pix.

3) Pork pork pork!
Yummm…you can find all sorts of porky delights here.

4) Porn dvds everywhere..on the street, in shopping complexes.
We found lotsa gay porn. One in particular, intrigued us..it’s called “Silom Soi 2”…and it had 2 gay guys embracing each other. There were pictures of scenes of them making out on the beach…

5) Most ppl are very very polite.
Flash your smile and you're given a better bargain.

6) Alcohols are super affordable.
RM3.9 for a bottle of Heineken? RM4.8 for a bottle of Bacardi Breezer or Smirnoff? Gosh…I could live here for the alcohol alone..

7) Rubbish bins are rare.
No wonder the streets are filled with rubbish.

That's the end of my Bangkok adventure. Lemme know what you think can?
