The princess was awaken from her royal slumber by her royal family members when the clock striked 12am...They were all there to give her a royal birthday surprise.

She was a blur at first sight...but when she saw her cake, a delighted smile slowly formed on her delicate face.

She was truly touched that they all remembered her birthday. The mere fact that her royal father, the King usually sleeps by 11pm but His Majesty stayed up past 12am just to wish her "Happy Birthday" truly touched her.

Next morning....

Her Royal Highness took a day off work that day as she just didnt feel like it.

She received more hugs and kisses from her royal pets residing at another palace, nearby.

She had a hearty yumcha @ A Little Dim Sum Place.

The dimsum was good, esp the har kow (prawn dumpling) - prawn was huge n sweet, bacon roll and tan tart (egg tart).
The service however, was disappointingly too slow for her liking, esp since it was quite quiet that Wed morning.

The siew mai was pretty good too.

She has fallen in love with their melt-in-your-mouth egg tarts. It's rich and creamy with a hint of vanilla custard taste to it.

A Little Dim Sum Place is the first restaurant in Malaysia to come up with Mango glutinous rice ball (Mango tong yuen) aka the Ah Wong HK drama series. I heard this is really good, shall try it some day.

Desserts are served Mon-Fri from 6pm onwards, Weekends from 3pm onwards.

If there is a Japanese restaurant that I had to call my "regular hang out place", Rakuzen will be that place.

Why? Because the ambience is just right - it can be lively or cosy, service is fantastic - staff are friendly and attentive, and their chefs are chatty n fun to hang out with, and the food is about as authentically Japanese as you can get.

Yup, the Rakuzen in Subang at any one time can have more Japanese patrons than local Malaysians. That to me, is a testimony of how fine and authentic their food is.

Edwin brought me to the Rakuzen at Hartamas to celebrate. We love this place so much so that, every year I've been celebrating my birthday with him at Rakuzen.

Rakuzen Hartamas is pretty well partitioned. They have different dining areas to accommodate for different needs.

If you're here by yourself and you need someplace a lil more lively..Why not sit by the bar area? Let the funny chefs entertain you. Catch? You'll have to speak or at least understand Nihongo (Japanese)

We were given a cosy cubicle.

You're looking at a sashimi convert. This guy here once hated Japanese food. After coaxing him to try the food at Rakuzen, he is now a convert. That was 3 years ago.

Guess what? It was his idea to order the sashimi this time...cos he reckons the chefs are skilful and he wanna have something from the bar.

According to Ed, Rakuzen is his favourite Japanese restaurant.

Being the vainpot, naturally i checked out the mirror by the wall. Hey, it was there for a reason!

We were surrounded by mirrors. There were mirrors by the wall where we sit, as well as mirrors on the ceiling.

Months back, i told u guys that i was saving up for this, remember? ...

DIY hot stone beef marinated in special sauce

Ed's favourite: salmon sashimi.

My all time favourite - Sakura Chirashi Sushi Don. Dont you think it's very pretty? It's absolutely very yummilicious, esp the hotate (scallop) and sweet scampi...and everything else.

The only place with decent miso soup i reckon. It has lil mushrooms inside as well!

The staff surprised me! They sang me a birthday song and presented me with a block of wafer ice cream. So funny, i was asked to blow this candle.

The only time i didnt order my black sesame ice cream. I was too full.

Yum!

Always call to make a reservation if you dont wanna be disappointed. The place was full even on a Wed nite.
